Season's Greetings All!
I hope everyone is doing well. I thought that you might be interested to know that I actually did see a real plane with the TransContinental logo...only it wasn't the same Company as the one Pearlman created. It wasn't even a jet! It was a prop plane and the Company that operated the aircraft was based in Michigan. My sighting was at Dulles Airport in Virginia when the WDL blimp we were operating was temporarily based there in 1985.
I found out about the "other" company in the late '70's but Pearlman would always say that it was a division of his corporation and that they would never talk to me. What did I do? I called them up in Ypsilanti and they told me that they never heard of Lou Pearlman. Interesting, huh? Somewhere in my archives is a photo of the plane but it was not something that I pursued. At that time I was working for Airship International and life on the road overwhelmed me. It was not an easy lifestyle to get used to, especially with last minute schedule changes.
Jefff's reply is right on the money...literally. Even as a young man, Lou would entice people with promises that weren't kept. He talked a good game and for a while, I was drawn in as well. Outward appearances gave people the impression of his success but it was all a facade. The Company's theft of my Airship stock in the mid-90's led me to do a more detailed investigation, including research into the Jordache blimp scam. As many of you know, a lot of this material was used by the media in recent times.
I hope everyone enjoys this Holiday Season in spite of the damage that Pearlman may have caused you. They say that time heals wounds but it won't bring my dear friend Frankie Vazquez back to his family and me. This time of year was always special to us and I looked forward to his visits to NYC for family time.
Peace,
Alan |

| Airline Pilot. It is easy for you to say what you are saying now that everthing is done and the investors lost everything. I assume you were not a client of Lou Pealman, if you were, than you would under stand how he kept us interested. The carrot was always in front of our nose. Each time someone wanted out, he would shake the carrot little more and assure him that the IPO was coming out within the next month or 2. So If you were not part of this group, than you don't really know what it was like. Pealman has a good business going when many of us join. He had the 2 biggest bands in the country. He did make a lot of money and it looked very good, and we all trusted him. Than greed set in and the rest is history. |

Trans Continental Airline (the original) sold only the FAR 121 Supplemental Certifcate to Pearlman, no aircraft, Pearlman never recieved an operating certificate from the FAA. If your investing into an airline or a compnay owned by an airline, wouldn't it make sense to see if they actually had a certificate to "operate" an airline? If you listed 20 or 30 aircraft as assets wouldn't you expect to see a few? Maybe check Orbitz and see a schedule if flying passengers or if cargo, get a clinint list. If your operating a 747s, it would have to be a major shipper not Ma & Pa Kettle cargo forwarder but FedEx, UPS, GM, Ford, government, MilAir, etc.
First clue should have been LACK OF AIRPLANES, it is easy to say "I have $150million in diamonds lock in my safe", but hiding 7.5 million pounds of aluminum is really tough.................
United, I see planes. SouthWest, I see planes. Kalitta Air, I see planes. Omini Air, I see planes. FedEx, I see planes. Tran Continental, nope nothing, ever...... |
